Austin gets organized.
Okay, Austin’s mom gets him organized.
Whatever works right?
I swore last year, I would do a few extra things to get that kid of mine super ready for the last year of high school. Senior year. Yes, SENIOR.
I know it’s happening, but I’m pretty deep in denial, so as I share this, I pretend it’s not happening. So far, so good!! LOL.
I knew he was going to be extra busy this year and I think a neat room makes it easier to get out the door on time.
Speaking of doors…
We used the back of his, since it was being lazy and doing a whole lot of nothing.
I used Command Brand Hooks to make this space usable and organized, without putting nails or screws in the vintage wood door.
You never know… I could have another “epic room flip“ in me and this might not always be his room. Plus, that whole senior thing means… it probably won’t be his room much longer.
{Excuse me while I go have a nervous break down}
Okay, now where was I?
Oh yes, so… I started with a clean, dry surface and followed all the (easy) package instructions on use, weight limit and surface suggestions. These things are pretty cool. I love the versatility and that I can put a hook in exactly the spot I want for it to make sense for our needs.
I used the following products in the slate color:
Perfect for my teen guys room.
He can throw tomorrows clothes on the back of the door and pop up anything else he needs to grab on the way out!
The Command Brand Spring Clips will do double duty, holding items as well as important papers. No more forgetting a signature slip… or something he worked on late that needs to be turned in, and the back pack is downstairs.
Bam, he can clip it there where he can’t miss it.
The Command Brand Terrace Hooks hold double the items but make it easy to grab just one, without moving the other first. Hey, great feature, because Hello? boys can be a little bit {lazy}. See how I whispered that?
Actually, our son is pretty neat, but if he can shave off a few seconds, he will! In fact, he’d be happy if his whole room was hooks, and he didn’t have to use hangers. Serious!
He picked up that really cool old bat at a barn sale we stopped at the Summer before last. He doesn’t play Baseball… it’s for Zombie defense.
Having a boy is certainly, “entertaining”.
Stinker has good taste though. So far he has managed to get my Target Threshold door stop, my vintage wood milk crate, the super-cool vintage red fan, and all but one of my globes in his room.
Meh… I sort of like him. {winks}
Disclosure: If you’ve seen my other Command hook posts, you’ll know I am a brand ambassador. That means I get to try and share lots of the Command line with you and I make a couple of bucks too. It’s important to me that I share real-life uses that we find for them in our home, and ideas for decorating with them that you might like. While I am compensated, please know that I only share things I think are of value, well made and useful!
Tune-in tomorrow if you are into easy organizing!
I’m sharing our communication station I made in the kitchen.
You can find all the Command Brand products like the Terrace Hooks, Double Hooks and Spring Clips that I used in this post on the Command website.

I must admit…I am a little jealous about all this organization you have going on. But, the good thing is, I can do this too!!!!

And I am jealous of your jump on Fall crafts! While I’m not ready… I’m almost there. I’ll be a whirlwind of Fall leaves and twigs soon I’m sure 😉

Great idea… I love those colors!!! Sometimes teenage boys get skipped for cool room accessories on the market. I just found plug ins in the dark gray too… So yay for boys stuff!!! Oh… And Yankee candle has man candles now…. I have been waiting for years for good boy candles ( I’ll skip the beer scented one… Peee yhew!!!) but…. I’m so glad to see the command hooks in more men (boy) colors!!! Oh…. And the senior year thing…. I started crying in September….

Thanks so much! They do for sure. Boy stuff is much harder to find. Girly things are everywhere. Oh yeah? he could use a little room smelly goodness 😉 Beer scented? Um, I’m with you on that one! lol. Me too. They have the slate, and a pretty cool brushed nickel too.
Senior year.
I can not even deal.
